How can you benefit from holding FLF events?

The FLF offers you a chance to do something different and make a difference in your community. FLF event organisers have reported a range of benefits from involvement in the Festival. By taking part you could:

Relationships
  • Attract new audiences and build relationships with existing users

  • Extend and enhance existing partnerships – get others on board

  • Build new partnerships in the community and to engage parents as advocates of your services

  • Participate in a national campaign

Learning
  • Enable families to learn together in a friendly environment

  • Use your activities as a ‘hook’ for learning and to reach new family audiences

  • Encourage and enable families to start a learning journey

  • Promote the life long learning message and further learning opportunities

  • Enable mothers and fathers to see how important their role is in their children’s learning

  • Promote and support Skills for Life learning

Targets
  • Contribute to organisational targets

  • Support the delivery of PSAs and local agreement targets

  • Contribute to the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda*

  • Contribute to an improvement to the health of adults and children

PR
  • Raise the profile of your organisation within your community

  • Enhance your credibility as a venue for families

Build services
  • Pilot an idea for a project and collect evidence on the impact

  • Try out innovative new ideas

  • Apply for funding – for example through local trusts and Awards for All – to run an event

  • Develop your skills amongst employees

* ‘Every Child Matters’ is the Government’s programme of change to improve outcomes for children and young people. The Government’s aim is for every child to have the support they need to:
• Be healthy
• Stay safe
• Enjoy and achieve
• Make a positive contribution
• Achieve economic well-being
We believe this can be achieved by putting family involvement at the centre of this agenda.
